Our Coaches

Our coaches bring passion for the game of baseball, the catching position,

and youth player development to every lesson, clinic and camp.

Coach Rex

Rex has been coaching for 10 years.  He started Colorado Catchers in 2018 with the goal of providing proper instruction in the core fundamentals of the catching position.  Since 2018 he has coached 100's of catchers.

 

He has a background in Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning having worked in professional baseball, Arena2 Football, and at the high school level.  He has also taught at the high school and university levels.

 

Rex has a passion for baseball, the catching position and to impact youth players in a positive way furthering their love for the game of baseball.

Rex is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association as well as a Coburn Certified Catching Coach

Coach Conner

Conner Fiene is originally from McKinney, TX.  He  played organized baseball since he was 4 years old and did so all the way up through high school where he attended and played for the McKinney North Bulldogs. 


After graduating, he attended Highland Community College in North East Kansas where he caught for 2 years. During his two years at Highland CC he was awarded the Ben Allen Leadership Award (twice, the only athlete in the history of the school to do so) and earned All Jayhawk Conference Honorable mention.  


After Highland, he transferred to Wayne State College, an NCAA Division II school in North East Nebraska. There he played for 3 years (two full years due to COVID-19) where he was the starting catcher all 3 years. After his senior year, Conner received honors for the All NSIC conference and All-Central Region Honors. He was also awarded the ABCA/Rawlings All-American Gold Glove which is given to 1 player at each position at each NCAA level and at the high school level.
